VACSWIM is offering free water safety and survival programs to primary school aged children in care during December and January.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn life-saving water skills – which is why VACSWIM is offering free water safety and survival programs to primary school aged children in care during December 2019 and January 2020.
Children will be given the opportunity to develop a range of skills and positive experiences in the areas of water safety, confidence and competence in the water, personal survival activities and basic aquatic emergency procedures.
How you receive your free water safety and survival program depends on your location and provider. While the program and equipment is free some venues charge entrance fees. Your provider will advise of fees on registration. These venue fees are payable from the carer payment, and therefore will not be reimbursed.
December bookings close Monday 2 December 2019 and January bookings close Tuesday 17 December 2019.

If you are a carer
If you are a carer and wish to register a child for VACSWIM for free you must:
- Contact the program provider listed on the website for your nearest location (do not book online as you will be asked to pay for the program).
- Your provider will talk you through their booking process and any venue entry fees.
If you are a social worker or case worker
If you are a social worker or case worker and wish to register a child for VACSWIM for free you must:
