Scholarships are still available!

There are still scholarships available under the Catholic Education South Australia Scholarships Program for children and young people in care. The Department for Child Protection encourages you to take advantage of this fantastic program which will provide 200 children and young people in care with scholarships to attend Catholic schools fee-free.

Pathways to employment are important for our young people in care and are often an important first step. Saint Patrick’s Technical College in the northern suburbs, is a great example where around 60 percent of their students secure an apprenticeship prior to leaving school. There are many other Catholic schools across the state, including specialist schools, that also support young people to transition to training, apprenticeship and employment pathways.

If you know of a young person in care who would benefit from such a scholarship, please discuss this with the young person’s case worker. You can access more information via our carer fact sheet.
