Through the Investing in their future initiative, DCP is excited to announce that in partnership with Youth Opportunities, we are offering scholarships for up to 20 young people in care and post-care to complete a Thrive@Life Personal Leadership Program.

Young people aged 15-25 can register their interest in enrolling in the program by emailing CPReform@sa.gov.au.

Commencing October 2022, the 10-week, self-paced learning program is designed to increase young people’s wellbeing and resilience, develop their communication and goal setting skills, and build the habits and attitudes that will set them up for success. The engaging program empowers young people to use their voice, build on their strengths and feel confident in making decisions about their future.

Young people receive a personal coach to support them during the program, as well as engaging in group workshops where they can connect and share in their learning experience.

To undertake the program, all a young person needs is:

  • A desire to build their leadership skills and a motivation to learn
  • Regular access to a computer and internet
  • 1.5 – 2 hours a week to work through the content (but they choose when to learn)
  • A commitment to meet with their coach.

With Thrive@Life running in schools and businesses, and even through sporting clubs, DCP is offering the program to young people with a care experience to help them thrive and reach their full potential.
