Children and young people in care may be eligible for a range of sport, recreation and other activities to help them learn, grow and be part of their community.

Children and young people in care aged 3 – 12 are eligible for free water safety and survival programs through VACSWIM. Programs are held in December and January each year.

School aged children from Reception to Year 9 can also apply for a $100 sports voucher to help cover the cost of sports or dance registrations and fees. Visit the sports vouchers page to apply. For more information, speak with your DCP caseworker.

Children aged birth to 5 years can receive a free reading pack to help establish a home library and support early development of literacy and numeracy skills.
