We answer your frequently asked questions on the new Indexation Supplementary Payment to support non-government organisations that provide services in the social, community home care and disability sectors.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Indexation Supplementary Payment?

In recognition of the higher service delivery costs associated with minimum Award outcomes and inflationary pressures, the Malinauskas Government, as part of the Mid-Year Budget Review 2022-23, has committed $55 million over four years from 2022-23 to support non-government organisations that provide services in the social, community home care and disability sectors.

How do I determine if I am eligible to receive an indexation supplementary payment?

If you have a current funding agreement with the Department for Child Protection (DCP) to deliver services on behalf of the State Government and it includes funding for staffing costs impacted by minimum Award outcomes then you may be eligible. DCP will review existing funding arrangements to determine eligible service providers and advise them on the payment process as soon as possible.

What is the total payment I will receive if I am eligible?

Effective from 1 July 2022, this supplementary increase of 2.6 percentage points to the NFP indexation rate will be paid in addition to the existing 2.5% NFP indexation payment providing a total indexation rate of 5.1% for eligible NFP service providers for the 2022-23 financial year. This will result in eligible service providers receiving an annual increase to the baseline funding amount plus the 2.5% indexation rate being paid in future years.

How will I receive the payment?

As a priority, DCP and the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) are working through the impact of this initiative on all eligible service providers with an intent to provide payment as early as possible.

Do I need to apply to receive the payment?

No, your eligibility is predetermined based on your current funding agreement with DCP.

Is this payment in addition to my existing funding arrangement?

Yes, it is a supplementary payment on top of your existing funding block funding and growth funding payments for the 2022-23 financial year only.

Who do I contact if I have a concern about my payment?

Please contact your DCP Contract Manager in the first instance.
