Involving children and young people in consultations

The views of children and young people are integral to the development of this Statement of Commitment.

The Statement of Commitment to Children and Young People involves two consultation stages:

  • an initial consultation round to support drafting the content [active]
  • a second consultation round to confirm that the content of the draft Statement of Commitment aligns with children and young people’s expectations, and to design the Statement’s visual aspects.

Children and young people can share their views by completing an activity sheet or filling out a survey. It’s expected to take children and young people between 15 minutes and an hour to work through the questions.

    1. To support the child or young person in your care, download and read the Facilitation Guide (DOCX, 89.4 KB).

    2. Download one of the activity sheets.

3. We have created a survey for young people aged 11-14 (external site). A PDF version is also available here (PDF, 4.0 MB).

4. There is a separate version for young people aged 15 and over (external site). A PDF version of the survey is available here (PDF, 4.0 MB).

Consultations will close Monday 30 March 2026
