Working collaboratively with service providers is a critical element in understanding where quality improvements can be made that will support the delivery of better and safer outcomes for children and young people.

The DCP Licensing Reform Working Group (the Group) has contributed to co-designing a refreshed approach to licensing services. The Group met on three occasions to discuss the proposed licensing approach and identify opportunities to enhance the DCP licensing process.

Significant work is underway on enhancements to the licensing process, including revising existing processes and developing new guidance and tools. In consultation with Service Providers, DCP has identified duplications within current licensing requirements and sought to streamline. This is important to improve efficiency, while maintaining rigour and quality in order to safeguard children and young people in care.

Formal consultation on the proposed licensing approach, Framework and associated documentation commenced on 5 October 2022. Further information and documentation can be found here.
