For all General Family Based Care and Specialist Family Based Care agreements, the Service Provider will have an annual Carer Recruitment Strategy and Implementation Plan in place each calendar year to support DCP to achieve increased numbers of carer households and improve placement capacity.

The provider's Carer Recruitment Strategy should support the department's priorities and objectives to achieve secure, safe, stable and quality placements for children and young people in care across South Australia. There is a focus on recruiting carers:

• located in regional areas
• for children aged between 6 and 13 years old
• for sibling groups
• who are willing and able to care for and proactively support connection to culture and kin for children and young people from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.
