The Department for Child Protection is inviting service providers to submit their proposals to develop and deliver a state-wide family group conference service delivery methodology.
This is an important step towards implementing family group conferences in South Australia, which is a facilitated, voluntary process led by family members to plan and make decisions that protect a child or young person who is at risk of harm.
The tender invitation follows the state government’s budget announcement earlier this year allocating funds for the department to pilot family group conferences as an early intervention measure.
It reflects the department’s commitment to supporting family-led decision-making to secure safety, permanence and stable care arrangements for children and young people.
