At the Department for Child Protection (DCP), conversations about what’s important to South Australian children and young people in care are happening all the time.
That’s why we jumped at the chance to become a sponsor of the 2022 CREATE Foundation Voices in Action conference scheduled to be held online from 26 to 29 April 2022.
Voices in Action is an innovative and inspiring event where young people, carers, professionals and sector leaders come together to work on making changes to the out-of-home care system for children and young people. Registrations are now open.
Like CREATE, and like you, we believe that the child protection system needs to be one that listens and empowers children and young people to have their voices heard.
Our Child and Youth Engagement Strategy 2021-2023 is central to this vision and will proudly feature in the 2022 CREATE Voices in Action conference handbook.
The strategy launched in July 2021, highlights three key areas for DCP and its partners to focus on to ensure children and young people’s participation in child protection matters:
