Establish a postdoctoral fellowship program in conjunction with the tertiary education sector to advance areas of research relevant to the agency.
Postdoctoral staff have supported the completion of two major projects that were led by Australian Centre for Child Protection as part of the Early Intervention Research Directorate. These include:
- stage one of the desktop evaluations that have analysed selected programs to review their evidence of theory of change, activities and outcomes with a focus on the prevention and early identification of child abuse and neglect
- the study of child protection case notes for children who were born in South Australian in 2014. This study analysed unborn children concerns to examine the concerns and identify risk and protective factors for child abuse and neglect that impact during pregnancy.
