DCP’s Carer Reference One – Who pays for what? document has been updated to reflect current information about the Australian Government child care subsidies and other child care expenses.

The updates:

  • provide carers with information on the Australian Government child care subsidies available, which should cover all of a child’s child care fees for children in care
  • outline carer financial responsibilities relating to other fees that may be charged as a result of child care attendance
  • outline child care financial assistance DCP may provide where specific criteria has been met.

Child care can have a positive impact on a child’s short and long-term learning and development. It also assists carers to work, study, volunteer, attend training or take a break.

As a carer you play a vital role in accessing Australian Government child care subsides so it is important for you to understand the updates.
