Check out our new online hub for the recently expanded Investing in their future initiative, which provides priority access to services for children and young people in care, and who have left care, up to the age of 25.

Over the past year the state government been working to expand the Investing in their future initiative, which provides priority access, such as fee waivers, to services for eligible children and young people with a care experience.

This initiative now includes a more comprehensive list of services and expanded eligibility to now include care leavers – from health, education and housing to recreational activities, training and employment. Some of the new services include:

  • free, extended ambulance cover for care leavers up to the age of 21
  • scholarships for children in care to attend South Australian catholic schools
  • a new pathway for emergency after hours, orthodontic and post care dental services.

Check out the full range of services on the new online hub for Investing in their future, which is a one-stop-shop for all services available through this newly expanded initiative.

Click into a topic – such as dental services – and read about what the child or young person in your care may be eligible for, and how to apply.
