The Adelaide Fringe is an exciting time in South Australia’s calendar. As a carer, you may like to take the child or young person in your care to a Fringe activity, providing them with an opportunity to experience the atmosphere and fun of this significant community event.
Below are some free activities to consider in both metro and regional areas. You can walk between the first two events in approximately 10 minutes, meaning you could fit both into one day.
Yabarra – Dreaming in Light
Cost: Free, booking required
When: Saturday 15 Feb – Sunday 15 March, 10am - 9pm
Duration: allow 30 – 60 minutes
Venue: Tandanya, 253 Grenfell St Adelaide
Cutting edge light technologies and illuminations create an immersive dreaming track, allowing you to experience the story of creation and country. This installation can be enjoyed by all, and may be particularly enriching for Aboriginal children and young people in care.
Giant Sing Along
Cost: Free, booking not required
When: Friday 14 February – Sunday 15 March, 12pm – 7pm
Duration: allow 30 – 60 minutes
Venue: Lot 14, North Terrace, Adelaide SA
The karaoke to end all karaoke! Come and belt out a ballad at this interactive installation, with a field of microphones waiting for you. The microphones even have auto-tune to make you sound fantastic!
