Foster and Kinship Carer Week is being held from Sunday 12 September to Saturday 18 September 2021.

During Foster and Kinship Carer Week, the Department for Child Protection will say thank you to our amazing foster and kinship carers by having a range of activities throughout the week.

Activities include:

  • Local events and celebrations across the state
  • Thank you to our carers display in the Gallery, Ground Floor, 31 Flinders Street, Adelaide.

We will also be sharing some inspiring stories about our wonderful carers, and you’ll be able to catch up on these stories on the DCP Facebook page.

South Australian foster and kinship carer agencies will also be hosting events around the state.

About our foster and kinship carers

There are more than 3,300 approved primary foster and kinship carers who dedicate their time to enriching the lives of children and young people, nurturing them to thrive and reach their full potential.

They provide safe, loving and stable home environments to the children who need it most.
