In collaboration with foster care agencies, we are introducing new carer agreements to help better support you as a carer.

A carer agreement is a new written document that you and your support worker will fill-in together. It aims to provide a transparent record of your training and support needs, and to empower you and your support worker to make more decisions about your placement preferences such as the age or gender of children who enter your care.

If you are an existing carer, your agreement will be developed at your next review meeting with your support worker. Both you and your support worker will sign the agreement to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Find out more about carer agreements under "How DCP works".
